In addition to the Dutch market, Smit Heat Treatment is also fully active in Germany and other European countries. Over the past decades, we have proven to be a renowned player here as well. All heat treatments in Germany are coordinated from our location in Willich.
The Smit Heat Treatment facility in Willich, Germany was opened in 2009 in order to respond to the demand for heat treatments from Germany. The annealing activities at our customers are efficiently coordinated from this location. Our experienced service engineer carries out induction and resistance treatments on site. Think of treatments such as preheating, stress relieving – or post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) – and normalizing.
In addition to carrying out on-site heat treatments using induction and resistance machines, it is also possible to have a mobile furnace installed on site. The dimensions are precisely tailored to the workpiece to be treated to ensure optimum efficiency and low energy consumption. All contacts for carrying out such projects in Germany are made through our Willich office.
If it is necessary to anneal a workpiece in a stationary Smit Heat Treatment furnace, this is of course also possible. The head office in Cuijk is a stone’s throw from the border with Germany. Workpieces can therefore easily be transported from Germany to this location to undergo heat treatment. This process is fully coordinated from the Willich site.
